Mobile electronic magnifier
The RUBY XL HD mobile electronic magnifier is a useful tool for people with low vision. Optelec offers several options for magnification and contrast display, making reading and viewing photos and documents easier. A mobile magnifier is a portable device compared to a normal magnifier. It is also often used when people do not have space for an electronic magnifier at home.
About the RUBY XL HD
The RUBY XL HD puts crystal clear, high-definition magnification in the palm of your hand. The slim RUBY XL HD goes anywhere with you, while the five-inch widescreen brings out even the finest details. You can magnify materials up to 14 times – books, photographs, newspapers, medication labels, and more.
Easy to learn and use, whether at home, in the office, or on the go. It snaps open to hold the screen at a natural angle, sliding effortlessly across a document as you read. Colour-coded tactile buttons make it easy to adjust the magnification, false colours, or to add a reading line/masks.
This portable, handheld video magnifier has a 5-megapixel, auto-focus camera providing sharp HD quality images that are easily viewed on its full colour, 5-inch LCD widescreen. The screen tilts up for easy reading on the page with continuous zoom from 2x to 14x.

My Ruby turns itself off when I’m reading. What can I do about it?
This is normal behaviour. If no button has been pressed for 30 minutes, the RUBY will switch itself off to prevent the batteries from draining.
-
When reading with the RUBY I suffer from glare on the paper. Can anything be done about that?
The glare on glossy paper is probably caused by the RUBY’s LED lights. You can turn the LED lights on and off by pressing the Green/Yellow button together with the Red button.
